    It doesn`t find my C64.app dir!! how does it know the GUID of the app?
    Just looking at the script now!

    This is wrong.. – Now enter the directory “/var/private/mobile/GamePack/

    var in root is a link to /private/var so it should be /private/rar/mobile/GamePack/ :)

    Anyway… I copied them across manuall.. set the permissions to the new files 755 and the emulator doesn`t start up now! Will have to go for re-install…
    Any ideas why it doesn`t find my C64.app dir ? it`s in the correct place..

    @Darren
    I think the reason why it doesn`t start is because of the new games in this version..
    Internation Tennis, Football etc..
    The plist file is different to the others.. and it contains extra png`s.. I remember this because I was copying some games over a while ago.. if I used the original game dir`s then it was fine.. soon as I used the new game dir ( Int Tennis ) for example.. the emulator wouldn`t start at all…

    Cool!

    Will this gamepack replace the games that v1.1.11 comes with or will they just add to the list of games?

  5. November 28th, 2009 at 17:28 | #5

    @Mackie

    This won’t replace the files, but will replace the games in the list.
    So even though the games are there, they will not appear in the list.

  6. November 28th, 2009 at 17:29 | #6

    @Darren

    That is incorrect.

    And I have tested this GamePack and it is 100% working.

    Also the script will set all of the game file permissions so you don’t have to.
    The only one that needs to be changed is the go64.sh installer script.

  7. November 28th, 2009 at 17:30 | #7

    @Darren

    Sorry about that typo everyone >.<

    I have updated the post with the correct directory. Thanks for pointing that out Darren.
    I will release a updated README.txt soon.

  8. November 28th, 2009 at 17:32 | #8

    @Darren

    I wrote the script so it could learn the directory.
    You MUST have the C64.app in the “/private/var/mobile/Applications/” directory!

    If you are still getting an error I would be happy to help find a solution.

    It works!!! You’re Great DNA! :) thx!
    Commando runs smooth!

    November 29th, 2009 at 01:54 | #10

    Hey!

    yes still getting the error.. C64.app is in that dir.. obviously under some long dir.. doesn`t find it at all!!

    I can manually do it… it works… but when I do the same with the newly added games.. with the different plist file and the extra pngs it fails to load…
    I revert back and all is good

  11. November 29th, 2009 at 02:41 | #11

    @DnP

    Great to hear, I really appreciate the feedback.
    Thanks & Enjoy!

  12. November 29th, 2009 at 02:47 | #12

    @Darren

    For the installer to work you MUST run the installer script (go64.sh) from “/private/var/mobile/GamePack/” and you MUST NOT overwrite the gameInfo.plist in each game directory! (The gameInfo.plist will NOT overwrite them)

    Furthermore, ALL original directories MUST exist.
    I will include some error checking in Build 2.

    Perhaps you should try starting with a fresh install?

    November 29th, 2009 at 03:09 | #13

    Thanks for the help.. I did a fresh install.. I have been running the script from the correct location. Oh… when I`m doing it manually I`m overwriting the plist file in the games dir..
    I see your install command, just sets the permission mode and prints the location out..
    How is it not overwriting the plist file if your installing it to the same location as the existing ? does it append the original one then ?

  14. Darren
    November 29th, 2009 at 03:12 | #14

    Also another note… when you unzip Gamepack.zip.. there`s a Gamepack dir inside another one ? so I`m guessing once you unzip.. you go into the Gamepack directory ( you just unzipped ) ( you have a _MACOSX and another Gamepack dir ) it`s this one I`m coping ? I didn`t see the point of copying over the one you unzipped because the locations would be wrong. ( having a Gamepack dir inside a Gamepack dir )

    I’ve changed the Outrun to Bombjack :) (d64->t64) and corrected the plist. I love this game!

  16. November 29th, 2009 at 04:04 | #16

    @Darren

    The install script installs the new files along side the old ones and appends all original existing gameInfo.plist files with a “~” as well as sets the permissions of all the files to 755. And yes, it does echo back the processes. I prefer verbose installs so you can see what’s happening.

  17. November 29th, 2009 at 04:08 | #17

    @Darren

    Oops!
    Sorry about that, I guess thats and issue for Windows Users I never thought of.

    When I extract it on my system it doesn’t have an extra GamePack directory, I actually checked to make sure. I will fix this in the update. Thanks again for pointing that out.

  18. November 29th, 2009 at 04:11 | #18

    @DnP

    I was actually considering installing that game, but after narrowing the list down to just 8, it didn’t make my list :P

    Glad to hear you were able to change it without any problems.

    November 29th, 2009 at 10:17 | #19

    @DNA
    Hmm still doesn`t find my C64.app dir :( Really don`t know why… all I can think of doing is writing that big ass directory down and putting it in the script :(

  20. November 30th, 2009 at 01:38 | #20

    @Darren

    That would work, however there is no reason the script shouldn’t be able to read the directory.

    It checks to make sure the directory exists, if it doesn’t exist it will provide an error and wont be able to read the apps GUID. The error message will then show an asterisks “*” in place of your GUID.

    If the directory does exist then you would see your GUID in place of the asterisks “*”.

    Where are you running the “go64.sh” install script from?
    That is the only thing I can think of that might cause the script to fail reading the C64.app directory.

    Running the script from the correct location! from the Gamepack dir ! I`ll try again tonight

    @Darren

    Please try Build 3.
    It will be posted in a minute or two.

    @DnP
    But a bit impossible as you need spacebar to launch grenades!!

    Might have to replace this… along with Renegade.. as I can`t seem to punch either!

  24. December 5th, 2009 at 16:07 | #24

    @Darren

    I don’t have any problems launching grenades :P

    And yes, sadly and all time favorite of mine “Renegade” is a little hard to play as I haven’t found the controls to punch or kick yet. I will be removing the game and updating the Pack to (Build 4) soon. This will likely be the final build as I will be releasing the Game Loader soon as well.

    I just got this today, and if everyone follows the directions in the included readme.txt file, it should work fine. It did for me at least! I hope to see some more game packs available from you soon. All the games in this one work fine. maybe you could include my favorite -ALIENS- ?
    Keep up the good work!
